The core is an exchange for the reman transmission with converter you will receive.

If you have further questions about the complete core, converter, shipping box, or core charge please call our toll free number 800.369.6601.

Q. How do you ship?

A.        We do all shipping through LTL freight. We have numerous trucking companies to accommodate the best pricing and fastest delivery for all parts of the US. When we ship you would pay shipping for the unit to come to you and we pay for the core to get back to us. When you receive our unit you will receive 2 gallons of fluid. This is not a measured amount. The transmission has fluid in it, but the torque converter is dry. It is shipped this way to prevent leakage. These transmissions DO NOT come with a dipstick you will need to purchase or have the special tool dipstick to set the fluid level. When you receive the unit there are return shipping papers inside the shipping box for your convenience. If you need a transit time please ask your sales representative. Also, please remember we are not a delivery company.

Q. Why do we need a VIN number?

A.        We need a vin number for many reasons. First, to ensure we send you the proper transmission. Second, to ensure that the proper parts such as shift lever, output flange, and torque converter are matched to your car. Some cars, depending on when they were manufactured, may have different transmission and that depends on the vin number.

Q. Why do we need a dipstick?

A.        Mercedes-Benz and Dodge Sprinter 722.6 transmissions DO NOT come with a dipstick from the factory. A special tool dipstick must be purchased to check transmission fluid level.

Q. Why do 1996 and 1997 Mercedes-Benz need an EGS (Electronic Gear Selector)?

A.        Mercedes-Benz had a lot of trouble with the first two years of electronic parts. When we purchase new electronic parts for our transmissions they are sometimes incompatible with the old computer control units (EGS).You may try using your 1996 or 1997 EGS, but may have engagement or shifting problems. Just like your PC software available now will not work on a 10-12 year old computer.

Q. Why do we send 2 gallons of oil on 722.6 transmissions?

A.        When we test the transmission on the dyno we leave the fluid from the test in the transmission. When we ship the transmission with the converter, the converter must be drained so it does not leak in the shipping box. Two gallons of fluid is not a measured amount so you must use your special tool dipstick when installing the transmission, and filling it to a running level. Some fluid maybe left over because of different converter sizes.

Q. What type of electronic testing equipment do I need?

A.        There are a lot of different scanners available on the market. The best of course is the DAS system (Diagnosis assistance system) made by Mercedes-Benz. There are other after market scanners that will work well for reading OBD2 codes, and for clearing fault codes. Check with the manufacture of your system to see if it is compatible with Daimler-Chrysler application.

Q. How do I go about ordering?

A.        We will fax you a fax cover sheet that has a place for all credit card information. Attached are the sales receipt, warranty, and the attachment to warranty. You will then fill out the credit card information, and sign, print and put the VIN number or mileage on the sales receipt. After both pages are completed, please fax it back to us.

*All transmissions must be paid in full before shipping out. We DO NOT except COD’s or personnel checks.

Q. Why am I asked to call before installing?

A.        There are two reasons. First, so we can give you a warranty number. Second, to talk to the installer of the transmission to answer any questions on installing the transmission, and to avoid any problems you may encounter during the installation.

Q. When and how often do I service my transmission?

A.        Even though most newer model transmissions are said to be non serviceable they still have a filter and need to be serviced. We recommend servicing the fluid and filter every 30,000 to 45,000 miles depending on use. Older transmissions (722.3) We recommend 30,000 because they use regular ATF. The newer transmission (722.6) use a synthetic fluid and can go more towards the 45,000 mark.

Q. What is answermatic testing?

A.        Answermatic testing involves a machine that uses regulated pressure of 100 P.S.I to test the hydraulic circuts of the transmission which include clutch and brake packs. If any circuit does not hold at least 95 % the unit is torn down and inspected to find the reason. The problem is then fixed and retested to ensure integrity.

Q. What type of ATF do I use?

A.        We use a special formulated fluid provided by Pure Power of California which is formulated with extra friction modifiers to with stand the extreme use of companies like Federal Express. A good alternative is BG synthetic ATF. This ATF can be found by going to going to findabgshop.com.

Q. What payment methods do we except?

A.        We except VISA, Mastercard, Discover, Money Orders, Certified Funds, and Wire Transfers. We absolutely DO NOT except COD or personnel check.
