About Silver Star Transmission
The original business was started in Denver, CO in 1977, and then moved to Oklahoma. Don sold the Mercedes repair business from 1975-1992. Don still wanted to stay in the Mercedes business so Jack King, 1 man shop, rebuilt transmissions for the business. 6 or 7 years passed and Jack was ready to retire so Don stepped in and bought the business. At this time Silver Star Transmission was doing everything. Servicing, rebuilding, ect. There were 2 employees at the time. Don got burnt out on servicing vehicles so the idea of sending out units was born. When Don bought the business it was 40 miles away from home, so he moved the shop to his house in 1999, and started working from home. After 2 years Don out grew the house with 5 employees he took the business and moved to Edmond, OK, where Silver Star Transmission is still located and producing more business then ever.
